In This Generation: Looking to the Past to Reach the Present (Colorado Springs: Dawson Media, 2010)

In this book Todd Ahrend, founder of The Traveling Team, gives insights into the the Student Volunteer Movement, one of the greatest missions movements since the First Century.  He systematically examines the key figures involved in this movement and compares and contrasts their theology and methods with those common in our day. Todd’s style is very readable and engaging. If you are looking for something to give you fresh vision and direction to help you mobilize others for mission, this book is worth a look!

Accidental Pharisees: Avoiding Pride, Exclusivity, and the Other Dangers of Overzealous Faith (Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 2012)

I’m really enjoying this book right now. It’s challenging me to think and live more like Jesus. Larry Osborne writes with a casual style that is just plain fun to read. If you’ve been a Christian for a while and consider yourself a committed believer, this book will help you perform a needed heart check.
